Online Platforms for Climate Mitigation, Adaptation and Clean Energy
The last couple of years have seen major developments in the field of climate & energy policy. Many new topics have emerged from the international process, as well as from regional and national policy initiatives – including climate finance. This is reflected by a large range of web platforms that focus on these specific topics, where stakeholders that work on the different segments can obtain and exchange information or even contribute to ongoing discussions. Frankfurt School – UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance has compiled an overview of the most relevant virtual platforms – also with a view to providing food for thought for the development of future stakeholder consultation platforms on climate finance, mapping the existing platforms and identifying potential gaps in terms of topics for or the implementation of such platforms.
Platforms that have been included in this overview cover the following topics: mitigation action, adaptation, Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD), carbon markets, Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV), National Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs), Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDs), climate finance, clean energy, and technology transfer.
