Dr. Stefan Drenkard holds academic degrees in physics, environmental engineering, medical science and a PhD in Biophysics, having passed several additional trainings e.g. in management and technical auditing. After some 7 years in R&D and consulting on climate change and environmental sciences, he has been working in international consulting at the interface of energy and environment for more than 20 years. At the same time he has been involved in R&D and lecturing at Universities and advanced training courses. In the last 10 years he mainly focused on projects dealing with greenhouse and flue gas emissions, energy efficiency and renewables in the EU and developing/transition countries.
Project examples include preparing and implementing different RE/EE loan projects e.g. in Ukraine, the Balkan countries, as well as Poland and India, including the introduction of leasing for EE/RE financing. Other projects focused on policy or Kyoto related aspects, and standards in the energy/environment sector. A regional focus of his work is Central/Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. This includes lecturing on energy and climate/environment related topics including auditing for Asian, Latin American, and EU Students and professionals.
