Our Approach

In our work we combine project implementation on the ground with think tank activities (see Figure). The Centre's work is cutting edge: We experiment with new financial mechanisms and implement projects that lead the way, inform policy development and change the way the financial industry operates.The overarching goal is to embed the green economy agenda in financing institutions operations. Jointly with partners in different institutions we are elaborating and field-testing new financial instruments, products and services that serve the growing markets for Energy Efficiency and clean energy production. Projects support capacity building and aim to bridge the public-private divide.

In its work, the Centre is applying a continuum from research to project implementation, thereby building a knowledge base that is directly benefiting its partners and the wider community.By combining advisory work with applied research and capacity building we are identifying and multiplying good practice in Sustainable Energy and climate finance.
